The manufacturing process exclusively uses cork harvested from the branches, known as falca, to produce cork granules. These granules are formed into blocks in an autoclave machine, a completely natural process that requires no additives.
The innovative technology involves injecting steam through the cork pellets, causing them to expand and bond together using the cork’s own natural resins. This process, akin to “cooking” or “charring” , gives the cork a rich, dark color, similar to chocolate. The steam used in production is generated using biomass sourced from the milling and cleaning of the falca, making the process truly sustainable and nearly waste-free, with 95% of the energy being self-generated.
